Poonam Doshi, M.D.

Meet Dr. Doshi

Dr. Poonam Doshi is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus and joined Lexington Eye Associates in 2020.  She sees patients at the Arlington and Concord locations and has a special interest in caring for children with strabismus, amblyopia, dermoid cysts and blocked tear ducts. 

Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Doshi obtained her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas in Austin and her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she was recognized for her compassionate care and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.  After her intern year in internal medicine in Galveston, Dr. Doshi moved to the Midwest for residency at the Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University and fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Indiana University.   Upon completing her training, Dr. Doshi returned to Texas to teach residents at Baylor Scott & White Hospital and later cared for children in the very community in which she was raised when she joined Houston Eye Associates.  Dr. Doshi recently moved to Boston as a newly-wed and is excited to call Boston home. 

Dr. Doshi is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.  She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as an active member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.  She has participated in ophthalmology: research, community vision screenings, and international medical missions, most recently traveling to El Salvador.

While outside of the office, Dr. Doshi enjoys spending time with her family, international travel, salsa dancing and hopes to explore the nearby biking trails as well as the greater New England area.
